Prof. Barton Miller did a 1995 update to his paper on faults in Unix 
utilities.  The paper is available as a tech report, and can be found via ftp 
on ftp://grilled.cs.wisc.edu/technical_papers as fuzz-revisited.ps.Z

The new results are enlightening and discouraging.
